Two youths robbed Rs. 47,000 from a cupboard at a house in Sholavandan after assaulting a 50-year-old woman M. Meena, at Sholavandan on Monday morning.
The police said that the youth, aged around 25 years, approached the woman seeking drinking water.
When the woman entered the house to fetch water, the culprits stealthily followed her and assaulted her.
One of them took the money kept in the cupboard and both of them fled from the scene in a flash, the police said.
The Sholavandan police are investigating.
