This month supermodel Gisele Bündchen modelled for photographer Steven Meisel inVogue Italia's beauty special while getting a ‘Vampire Facial'.
This extreme beauty treatment was first made infamous by reality star Kim Kardashian when she instagrammed a selfie of her blood-stained mug in March this year, and shared more gory details of the procedure on her reality show Kourtney and Kim Take Miami.

The in-office procedure uses blood drawn from the arm, spun around in a centrifuge to separate the platelets and then injected (painfully, Kardashian had to slap on some numbing cream) back into the face using tiny needles with the “hope” of stimulating new collagen production that’ll restore skin elasticity and iron out wrinkles.
Vogue Italia are “champions of irony,” opines beauty blogger Komal Basith in last week'spost about the shoot. Bündchen is portrayed "negotiating high profile deals in a business suit and diamonds while no less than four women fuss over her feet...If ever there was a stereotype ripe for a bit of gentle mocking, this is it," Basith writes.
