The Labour Department raided 27 TASMAC shops in the city on Saturday, following complaints from consumers and consumer protection and awareness groups about liquor being sold at inflated prices.
Nearly 14 shops were found selling various liquor brands at inflated prices.
Shopkeepers who were caught selling beer bottles at inflated rates attributed the increased price to the use of refrigerators and cooling boxes.
Many other TASMAC shop owners were pulled up for not issuing bills for purchases to customers.
